The DVD format realizes a level of audio quality beyond that of the conventional music CD. In order to reproduce this 96kHz/24-bit super-high-quality sound in all its glory, the DVD-V550 and V630 are equipped with a 96kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter which assures full-specification DVD audio reproduction with no noise generation even in cases where the sound signal is re-quantized.
• 10-bit Video D/A Converter
The DVD-V550 and V630 incorporate a 10-bit video D/A converter to achieve even more beautiful reproduction of DVD video images. Thanks to the converter's highly accurate processing performance, the massive data stream that makes up each DVD video frame is faithfully converted into high-definition analog signals resulting in extremely sharp and stable high-quality pictures on the screen.
• DTS Digital Output
If you want to enjoy the full excitement of home entertainment, nothing quite compares with the total presence of movie theater sound. That's why Pioneer has equipped the DVD-V550 and V630 with DTS digital output. Under DTS sound, which is now gaining widespread attention as a soundtrack option for DVD, recording is performed by greatly reducing the degree of signal compression in order to ensure that the original sound is captured and reproduced even more accurately and vividly. The rich information content of DTS audio signals guarantees an exceptionally high S/N ratio during playback and also reproduces sounds that are delicate, concentrated and firm.
* DTS is effective only when playing back DTS-compatible discs. Also, connection with a DTS decoding-capable amplifier or processor is required.

• Video Noise Reduction
DVD delivers exceptionally high picture quality, and these models incorporate a Video Noise Reduction function that helps draw out the full potential of this medium. This function, which thoroughly removes noise without disturbing the image in other ways, results in clear and stable pictures free from jitter and flicker and is effective during both DVD Video CD playback.
• Dolby Digital
For the most advanced home theater sound ever, the DVD-V630 features a built-in Dolby Digital (AC-3) decoder while the DVD-V550 can be connected to an optional external decoder. A powerful amplifier supplies equal power for all 5 channels, including both surround channels. And to ensure really dynamic theater sound, the signal is delivered discretely, channel by channel. Meanwhile, for the ultimate in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital sound, the DVD-V630 also features a pre-amp output for an optional powered sub-woofer. What's more, the decoder also lets you enjoy Dolby Pro Logic.
